Recently, we had the privilege of helping our friends at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Five Star Bank capture an exciting milestone. The partnership between these two organizations resulted in the announcement of the LECOM Five Star Scholars Program, which aims to attract future medical professionals from local communities.
An Exciting New Opportunity for Local Students
The LECOM Five Star Scholars Program is a groundbreaking initiative designed to encourage students from 14 counties in the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and Western New York to pursue a career in medicine by attending LECOM at the Elmira campus. This innovative program offers a unique scholarship that will help alleviate financial barriers for students while fostering the development of future healthcare leaders.
During the press conference, Five Star Bank generously presented LECOM with a check for $25,000 to kickstart the scholarship fund. It was an inspiring moment that we were thrilled to capture for LECOM and their partners.
