Pudgie’s Pizza: A New Website and the Top of Local Search

For a pizza place, local search is the whole game. Somebody gets hungry, they search, they order. Nobody scrolls to page two when they’re hungry.

The challenge

Pudgie’s has been part of the community since 1963. A legacy like that should be easy to find online — but Pudgie’s wasn’t showing up. They weren’t ranking for the industry keywords that actually drive orders in their own market.

Part of the problem is one we see all the time: their website came from their POS system’s built-in web builder. Those builders often send the SEO benefit to the POS company instead of the restaurant. If your menu site lives on your point-of-sale provider’s platform, it’s worth checking who’s actually getting the credit.

They also needed a visual refresh. The food was better than the photos representing it — which is a problem we see constantly, and it costs more than people think.

What we did

A brand-new, fully custom website, built to rank — packed with SEO-rich pages and real photo and video from our own production.

A full menu photoshoot — every item, shot properly.

Video interviews with team members and with customers. A highlight video. Drone footage.

And all the raw files, delivered.

What happened

Within a matter of weeks, Pudgie’s climbed to the top of local search for their keywords. Food sales spiked. Foot traffic in the store went up, and so did their brand awareness around town.

Why it matters

Local SEO for a restaurant isn’t a trick, and anyone selling you one is selling you something else.

Google wants a real website, real photographs, real signals that a real business is operating here. Most independent restaurants have a Facebook page and a PDF menu from 2019. Fixing that is most of the work.

The visual refresh wasn’t separate from the SEO, either. Better photos meant better social, better delivery-app listings, better everything downstream. One shoot, used everywhere.
