At Rugglion Media, we’re thrilled to kick off our Good News, Better Businesses series, and we couldn’t be more excited about our first episode. This series aims to spotlight the inspiring stories of local businesses and the people who are making a difference in Chemung County. Our first feature is none other than Connor Delaney, a passionate Elmira local on a mission to bring boxing back to the community with his new venture, Delaney’s Athletic Club.
Meet Connor Delaney: A Champion for Elmira
Christina from Rugglion Media had the pleasure of sitting down with Connor to hear all about his journey in bringing boxing to Elmira. His vision for Delaney’s Athletic Club goes far beyond just a boxing gym. It’s about giving back to the community and providing opportunities for youth to thrive, both physically and mentally. By offering boxing classes, Connor is not only helping individuals get fit but also teaching life skills such as discipline, perseverance, and focus.
A Partnership for the Future
One of the most exciting aspects of Delaney’s Athletic Club is its collaboration with the Elmira Economic Opportunity Program, Inc. (EOP). Through this partnership, Connor is now offering FREE boxing classes to local youth interested in the sport. This initiative opens doors for young people to gain confidence, learn new skills, and get involved in an activity that will positively impact their lives.
The EOP has long been dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in the Elmira community, and through their collaboration with Delaney’s Athletic Club, they are furthering their mission to empower the youth of Chemung County.
If you’re interested in learning more about Delaney’s Athletic Club and how Connor’s work is shaping the future of boxing in Elmira, check out his pages on Facebook and Instagram.
